Bathurst Manor is one of Toronto’s predominantly Jewish neighbourhoods in the district of North York, Ontario. Historically, the Bathurst corridor has been the epicenter of Toronto’s Jewish community with Bathurst Manor as the heart of the residential district.

However, this area may need some updating since the original homes date back to the 1950s and the 1960s. 
Homes for sale in Bathurst Manor include ranch-style bungalows that would benefit from some renovation, if not replacement. Many of the original homes have already been replaced with larger, more modern homes creating a mixed neighbourhood indicating a neighbourhood in transition.

Bathurst Manor is defined by Finch Avenue to the north, Don River on the east, Sheppard Avenue on the south and Dufferin Street on the west. The Bathurst bus is a 24-hour service. Motorists can get on Highway 401 and Toronto’s highway network easily from Bathurst Manor.

There are many choices for synagogues, temples and schools in Bathurst Manor. For elementary students, some of the school choices are Toronto Heschel School, Montessori Jewish Day School, Yeshiva Bnei Zion of Boboy and Bais Chava Mushka. For secondary schools, TanenbaumCHAT offers a rigorous curriculum that includes Judaic studies.

Kosher choices are the norm in Bathurst area grocery stores. The most popular stores include Metro near the Sheppard intersection and No Frills at the Wilson Street corner. The massive Yorkdale suburban mall is just outside Bathurst Manor. Most of the national chains are represented in this retail location.

Since Bathurst Manor is largely a residential development, entertainment venues are found in neighbouring communities. Earl Bales Park is open for picnics and nature walks in good weather.Parks and playgrounds are usually part of school facilities.

Many venues cater to the needs of adults. The Kolel is an educational venue that bills itself as an “Adult Centre for Liberal Jewish Learning.” Baycrest is a well-known research and health care facility focused on geriatric issues.

Bathurst Manor will continue to evolve as a family-centered, multicultural community.
