The neighbourhood of Bedford Park, Ontario is a family-oriented community that was envisioned as a mid-priced development of moderately-sized detached and semi-detached homes. It is located in the northern section of Toronto, north of Lawrence Avenue and east of Avenue Road. The original Bedford Park homes were built around 1890 up to 1940, but relocation of the Rosedale Golf Club to nearby Teddington Park has accelerated redevelopment in this area.

Many of the original brick bungalows and ranch style homes have been replaced with custom-built structures. While the newer homes are larger, these rebuilt homes blend in with the style established by the first homes. The typical Bedford Park home would have three bedrooms, one bath, a basement and a garage. The number of rooms increased as older homes were renovated or torn down and rebuilt.

In spite of being so close to bustling downtown Toronto, Bedford Park has managed to preserve its peaceful atmosphere with well-landscaped streets, an abundance of green space, parks and parkettes. These public spaces include Lawrence Park and Alexander Muir Gardens located near the Yonge and Lawrence intersection. Community facilities like the Bedford Park Community Centre and the Fairlawn Neighbourhood Centre provide families with playgrounds and a seasonal menu of activities.
