The Town of Halton Hills, Ontario is 33 kilometres northwest of Toronto in the Regional Municipality of Halton. It is part of the Greater Toronto Area. Halton Hills real estate tracts are typically in rural clusters or larger hamlets located along the Niagara Escarpment and other conservation areas. Some of these hamlets are Ashgrove, Bannockburn, Crewsons Corners, Silver Creek and Terra Cotta while the larger settlements and the commercial core are in Georgetown and Acton.

Four roadways link Halton Hills to Toronto and surrounding areas: Highway 7, Steeles Avenue, Regional Road 25 and Regional Road 3. GO Transit operates buses on the Highway 7 corridor. Commuter trains are jointly managed by Via Rail and GO Transit. Canadian National Railways provides rail freight service from Georgetown.

The town is proud of its full-service libraries managed by the Halton Hills Public Library Board. In addition, the area schools are highly rated with the Halton District School Board overseeing 16 public schools including two high schools. The Halton Catholic District School Board manages five elementary schools and one secondary school.

The strategic location of Halton Hills along Highways 401 and 407 has led to industrial development in the Georgetown and Acton areas specifically in the 401-407 Gateway Business Park. Some of the big businesses in this location are Mold Masters, CPI Canada and Cooper-Standard Automotive.

Apart from the industrial sector, Halton Hills has a thriving community of local merchants dedicated to enhancing the quality of life by supporting the local economy. Shopping venues include historic Downtown Acton, Georgetown Main Street, Georgetown Marketplace and the antique haven in Glen Williams hamlet.

Cultural events abound in Halton Hills. The John Elliott Theatre hosts live performances year-round. Art shows and workshops are part of the regular calendar of Visual Arts Centre of Williams Mill. Additionally, the town hosts many family-centered activities including dance, aquatics and various children’s programs. Outdoor recreation is varied at the town’s 46 park sites featuring a wide range of amenities including skate parks and hiking trails.
